Hi me and my wife are looking at relocating to cyprus and we were just wondering where the best places are to live and get work in cyprus? we would like to be near expats if possible as think this mite be easier for us to settle if we have english speaking people to blend with, any advise would be helpful.. we particularly love the protaras area but is there many jobs there or would it be better to look elsewhere in cyprus? thanks...

hi there
my wife and i had a similar concern when we moved to cyprus from canada.we lived in nicosia and the noise and heat were unberable then we moved to pervolia in larnaca.its on the sea ,everybody speaks english ,alot of english restaurants and pubs and it is quiet.as for work the center of larnaca is 15 miniutes by car and plenty of wortk.we also went to protaras but the work is seasonal and very busy noisy summers and vey humid.in pevolia we are renting a new flat fully furnished with a pool for 400 euro a month.good luck

hi there
my wife and i spend on average 90 eoro per week food shopping but we dont buy canned or prepackaged food.electricity is about 120 euros per 2 moths ,living by the sea has its advantages, nice breeze during the hot summers and warmer winters, water is about 30 euros every 3 months.full car insurance 300 annually.i know what you are going to go thru ,we came here with no help from anybody and it was tough.check out pervolia it will make life easier.2 things for sure you will need .aircon in your house or flat and a sattelite dish ,local tv is horrible.almost all rentals have this,if you need a rental agent i have a honest ,good one to help you/good luck

hi there
it all depends at what kind of work you are looking for .be prepared to have at least 4 months back up money for all your expenses

A brave move to start with but should you do it and there are no restrictions on work the place to be is Pafos as there is a very big expat presense there and property prices are at least half of those in other major cities.
