Finding work and education Paphos / Pafos

Hi all, I am new t o this forum so forgive me if I have posted incorrectly ( or maybe I didn't need to start a new topic).

I am seriously considering moving to Paphos after recently holidaying there. Loved the place and the climate, but now sitting back here in the gray overcast and rainy skies of the UK.

Is it best to just go out there with copies of my CV and just look for work on foot or are there any good and reliable recruitment agencies to use. And would you recommend that I go this route and secure work before going out there?

I have been working in the computer and IT industries doing design and illustration, project management and 3D CAD so I am flexible in doing advertising, web design, etc. but would be willing to take on jobs in Hotels and bars initially (waiting) as well as Estate Agents selling or working on brochures, menus, advertising, etc.

I also want to have the option of furthering my education out there and I came across Neapolis University. Does anyone have any information or experience on this university.

Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Hi ElTel,

I think any advice would depend very much on knowing a little more about you.
Are you single or married with children?
Do you have a nest egg to see you through the first few months in case you are unable to find work?
Jobs here are not easy to find and those that are there do not pay well.

Hi Pippin, thanks for your reply.

I would be going out there on my own (I'm separated) and would have some money to tide me over for a few months until I got established and found a small apartment and some work. I am in my mid 40's.

I am looking for a new experience in terms of friends, lifestyle and culture and Cyprus (specifically Paphos) appeals to me. I would even live on a boat if possible.

I want to find a place where I can learn something new while contributing in some way to local business, charities and culture. I only need to have humble living space and no financial debt or extravagant lifestyle to maintain. I have always lived within my means so wages don't need to be great but modest.

Regards,
