US retiree moving to CY; what is best bank to open an account?

I am moving to South Cyprus in October 2014 and am wondering, as a US citizen with a banking account in the US, what would be the best bank in Cyprus to open an account.

Any opinions?

I bank with Hellenic Bank and am happy with them. I wouldn't recommend banking with any Russian-owned bank considering the political climate between the US and Russia these days.

Also, not sure what impacts FATCA is having on opening accounts here in Cyprus. I opened my account in 2008 and have had no issues with FATCA affecting my account (knock on wood).

Just visited my bank here in Cyprus and was asked to sign some documents related to FATCA (bank-generated forms) and provide a copy of my SS card.
