How bad is dust throughout the year? I am asking for health reasons.

Generally the dust is not so bad that health warnings are issued. Most of the dust storms occur during the winter and are followed by rain to clear the air. However, last year we did have an incredible dust storm in August that lasted 3-4 days and the government did issues health warnings. This storm was unusual. I closed up the house because the dust was bad and had to put on the AC. The dust tends to be larger particles (>PM10), which I understand to be not as detrimental as the finer particles.

Thanks for that. Where do you get the information on the particle size etc, so we can review that please?

It's been what has been posted in the news. If you go to www.cyprus-mail.com and do a search for dust (the search button is in the top right corner (in the header on top), you will get recent articles about dust. Hope this helps.
