" Hey, I''m going to be moving to Prague for an internship in August 2001. I need to set up accomadations NOW! I have to get to work on my visa applications and without a guaranteed place to live I won''t get far on it. I''m looking to pay $200 a month and just looking for a room? Is that just wishful thinking or can I get a room for that much? If anybody wants to rent a room or a roommate for six months to a year starting in August LET ME KNOW!!! Thanks Matt OperaSnob@hotmail.com "

" Hello Mathew, My wife forwarded your message from expatexchange because we live in Prague and I pretend to make a living at being a realtor. In answer to your question I do believe it would be possible to rent accommodations for 200 US especially if you only require a room. The problem, or what I am not sure about is if you can find it without being here. Unfortunately the company I work for does not deal in this type of accommodations. I am sure there are several places where one might look for such offers most of which are posted in businesses which have a large expat customer base, but only two come to mind at this minute. The best place by far is The Globe which used to be a coffee house/bookshop hangout and has grown into a huge business with a restaurant/cafe, books, bar, web site which has great info on several of the cities in the region. There web address is: www.globopolis.com I would definitely hit their link sites for other resource sites. The next place is Laundry Kings there phone # is +420 (2) 3332 3894 here if you are very nice you might be able to get the person on the phone to read off any ads posted for roommates etc. I hope this helps and I believe you will enjoy your time in Prague. Feel free to contact me if I can be of assistance. Best Regards, Neil Parkey / EHS "
