" Hi, Everyone. My sister is about to graduate from college and is considering teaching English in Prague for a year. I haven''t been there since the early 90s and wonder what life for a 22 year old American will be like? Is it safe for someone like here to live and travel alone? Are there a lot of people like her there? Where can she meet up with other expats? Thanks! Cheryl "

" Prague is a wonderful city. It has come a long way since the early 90s as far as living conveniences go. There are many Americans and other foreigners who call it home. The people are friendly and helpful, for the most part. Of course, like any big city, she should practice common-sense safety precautions but it is certainly no worse than any other European city and much safer than many in the U.S. "

" There is a web site that can help English teachers who seek to teach and find employment. Please go to: www.eslcafe.com Please click ""Job Center."" Afterwards click ""Job Information Journal."" ""ESL Cafe"" will list information regarding the countries in which you wish to teach. This web page will also list the language schools to avoid. I hope this helps everybody! "

I was recently in Prague for a somewhat lengthy stay with my 19 year old daughter. It would be a delightful place for a young woman and anyone else to live. I would worry less about my daughter in Prague than I would if she were in the US. We both felt that the level of personal safety in Prague is much higher than that of most US cities.

" Is it possible to find a job in Prague teaching English, if you are not TEFL certified? I would absolutely love the opportunity to do so. I''ve been there 5 times and loved it every time. "
