" Hi, first let me say that I am not living in Prague, but there are a lot of English-speaking expatriates out in the small towns, too, I think...hard to tell, which is why I an casting about on the internet to find people who might also be in a no-horse town somewhere in the range of Liberec or, to be exact, Turnov, where I live. As you might expect, I am an American and, though the internet is fairly new to me, I have been here in the country for four years. Like some other thirty-something people I know, I seem to be here to get away from certain aspects of life in the US...but that doesn´t mean I have gone native, hence this effort. Guess I have partly gotten out of practice with presenting a friendly face, but to the point: I would like to know if anyone reading this is in the general area of Turnov - billed as ""Gateway to the Czech Paradise,"" so you can imagine what a hole - and would like to get together for a beer or three here or maybe there, I do have the famous Skoda 120. First I have to say I got a nice giggle out of your post! My husband and I are living in Brno, and we're feeling very isolated as well. Perhaps we could meet somewhere, sometime. My husband likes to have the odd beer or 3 as well.

There is an organisation called BIG - Brno International Group which has catered mixers every month or two - have you been to those?
