Firefighter Jobs?

My wife and I are considering the possibility of moving abroad to somewhere in central Europe (Germany, Belgium, etc.). The major issue we face is finding employment for me, as I am a firefighter currently, and I wish to continue my career in the fire service. I am currently certified as a firefighter up to U.S. standards; I know that there are differing standards according to which country you are looking at. Can anyone shed some light about possibilities for full-time employment for a firefighter in Europe? I have tried looking for jobs working for the U.S. government, but haven't found any that look like what I currently do, most are inspector type positions. Any help that you can provide will be very appreciated!

Hi from the Czech Republic, I would have thought the most obvious problem to overcome would be the language barrier.I can't imagine working as a regular firefighter in any country without being fluent in the local language.
