" Hello Everone - Thank you so much to everyone who responded to my first message about our move to Denmark. All of the tips and advice are very much appreciated. Here''s my latest dilemma. My husband''s company provides him with a company car. They do not offer any assistance, however, in helping us locate one for me. From everything we''ve read, cars (and tax on cars) are outrageously expensive. Can anyone point us in the right direction? Here in the US I drive a minivan. We know that driving something this size is out of the question, but we still need something safe and reliable, that will fit 3 children in the back (there are only two at the moment, but I hope to change that soon!). If any one is aware of a message board with used car listings or any resources on the ground in Denmark, I''d truly appreciate hearing about it. On a separate note - I had my first breakdown today...right in the middle of the State Farm Insurance office. While requesting a letter outlining our history with the company (to secure insurance in Denmark), things took a downward turn until I found myself sobbing in their office. I feel totally foolish now, but there was nothing I could do to stop it at the time. Oh well. Life goes on. I doubt it will be the last time it happens before we all get on a plane! Now I truly think I know what many of you were dealing with these last few months. Thanks for listening. I''m apologize for writing such long-winded messages. I''ll work on that. Many thanks, Denise P.S. I''m sorry for the multiple messages for those of you on several of these lists. "

" You won''t need two cars Have you considered that you probably won''t need a second car in Denmark? I can safely say that most families make it just *fine* on one. They''ve got an incredible network of public transportation, which is heavily used and quite convenient, and bike lanes are everywhere (these are not the cruddy bike lanes found in parts of the US, either). Your kids can safely ride behind you and little ones can be on your bike. I know this sounds totally weird, as bike riding usually stops after junior high in the US, but really look into this. If your husband has a car, which is a great luxury for weekend trips or big errands, you can and will do just fine if you buy everybody a bike with baskets when you get there. "
