" Hello Everyone: The movers arrive in 5 short days to begin packing our belongings for our move to Denmark. I feel totally overwhelmed! My husband is already in Denmark and I feel like my kids (5 and 3) are getting the short end of the stick because their mom is so stressed and exhausted! They have never watched so much tv in their whole lives. The ""Mother Guilt"" is in full swing! Any tips/suggestions for helping them (or me) through this? After the movers finish packing, we begin two weeks of visiting with family and friends. While this will be great, it will also be stressful because the kids will be in unfamiliar beds without their toys, house etc. When we finally arrive in Denmark, we will be in temporary housing for at least 2-3 more weeks. In your experience, what are the most important things to have to make the kids transition as smooth as possible? Thanks for listening...and for any thoughts you may have. Denise "

" May be of interest??? Denise, I was forwarded some information on a course that runs in Copenhagen for Expats. I haven''t been on it and don''t know anything about the company that runs it etc. So please don''t think I am trying to drum up business for them!!! However it may be of interest to know that courses like this are held.... " Hi Everyone: Thanks for all of the moral support during these final days before the movers arrive! Natalie, Julee and Denise, thank you for all of your tips regarding comfort food and security items for the kids. I had remembered instant oatmeal, but hadn''t thought about Brownie Mix. That could have been catastrophic!! My life wouldn''t be the same without the occasional (too occasional if you ask the scale) batch of Betty Crocker''s Traditional Chewy Brownie Mix! Thanks to you I am now stocked and ready to go. Robin, thanks for all of your advice to help get me through my pre-move visits. This may be the most stressful leg of our long journey. Thanks also to Francesca from the Sun Underground Newsletter. Any additional resources are always helpful. To complicate the night before the movers arrive, Hurricane Floyd decided to pay a small (thankfully) visit to our home. Somehow the water found it''s way in through my living room wall and the kids and I watched as the paint just bubbled and ran down the wall. A very large sink hole also appeared in the back yard. I was feeling very sorry for myself wondering how I was going to fix these things in the next few days, until I thought about all of people on the East Coast and elsewhere that have been devastated by this storm. I hope that none of you or your loved ones where affected by the storm. Thanks again for all of the good wishes. I''ll be writing from Denmark in less than three weeks! Denise "

" Dear Denise, I am happy to hear you are safe following to Floyd''s visit. I hope this goes for all of your friends and family too. Everything is well here, your house is ready for you to move in, and we are ready to assist you with your setteling in program upon your arrival. Brownies Mix is available in DK, and brownies can be bought at most cafés. Do not worry. I hope you are still in contact with Karin, she will be able to supply further information on relevant shopping before you leave the USA. In Hellerup we have an American shop which will be able to order or supply many of the products most American expatriates miss. An American shop is also available in Copenhagen. Both Helle and I look forward to seeing you soon again, in the meantime, please let us know if you have any questions. Best regards Annemette Krogh Home from Home Relocaion Services akp@hfh-relocations.dk "

" Hello Annemette: Thanks for the message! I am in the home stretch. I arrived in Massachusetts today to spend one week with my family before we leave. The house is sold and empty - and everything is on it''s way to our new home. At this point, I just can''t wait to arrive. Thank you to you and Helle for taking such good care of Michael. You''ve certainly made things much easier for him. Karin and I have been email back and forth between her travels. We are definitely planning on meeting once I arrive. She has even suggested some activities for Cole. She also mentioned that she only had to wait 3 months for a spot to open at the Little Montessori. It would be wonderful if the same happened for us. I''m assuming that Michael has sent the deposit, but I guess I better check. Hope all is well with you, and I look forward to seeing you in less than 2 weeks. Best regards, Denise "
