" I just moved to Copenhagen from the US in June. I have found a great resource for temporary housing. It is a service called Hay 4 You and they provide housing for terms from 3 days to one year. The apartments are furnished in most cases, so it is perfect when you are waiting for furniture to arrive. My husband and I have an apartment that is two bedrooms for about $1000 per month (US Dollars). That includes everything except telephone service. Their website is www.scanhomes.com. This is a great place to live. Things are different here for sure, but we enjoy the difference and love learning about a new culture. I highly recommend Copenhagen. If anyone needs advice, I''d be happy to email. "

You post actually helped me get housing in Denmark. I was able to get a house on a long term lease from www.scanhomes.com It''s wonderful. It''s 183 sm in the Østerboro section of town. I love it. I highly recommend Hay4you and have posted a link on website to theirs.

" hi Michelle I am an American living now nine years in amsterdam. ive just been to CPH and as i do every so often, i rent my apt here for a 6mo-to-1yr sojourn abroad. I found CPH [my 2nd visit] a great place but what impressed me the most was the friendliness of the locals. Im considering going up there, as my last cultural escape from Amsterdam was 21/2yrs ago & i am in dire need of a wallpaper change as i always call it. im curious if you have any advice regarding temp housing, rooms to rent affordably, etc, in CPH center. i noted the scanhomescom site. i have been in the airline industry for the last 12yrs since graduating university in NYC. any advice, commentary, regarding all & everything would be really appreciated. Thx and looking fwd to hearing from you. Good Luck & enjoy your ""cultural experience""...! :) Sincerely Ann "

" Hi Michelle, I am planning on going to Cph from mid-October to December and am looking for short-term housing - Hay 4 you sounds great, I''m going to check it out. I''m curious (I''m also American) and wondering what your experience has been like in Cph and if you had any difficulty in finding employment. "

" Hi Michelle. Hay4you does short term housing and you may be able to find something for that time period. However, I will warn you housing is expensive here if you are not Danish. I pay 14000 DKK per month for mine. I have a roommate which helps defer the costs. He pays 5000dkk per month. You can check pictures of my place and Copenhagen at www.seanindenmark.com If you are Danish you can find a better deal. I guess should ask do you speak Danish. Most people here speak English. Unfortunately, to get a job, you pretty much have to know Danish. There are some exceptions. There are a few Irish/English pubs here where you could Bartend that you don''t to know too much Danish. I came over on a two year contract with my Company, so I have had to find work myself. I do someone that came over with his wife that has been looking for work 5 months now. See what Hay4you can do for you. Email me back if you can''t find anything. I can have someone ask around. I travelling the entire month of October, but I can ask my roommate. "

" Hi Sean, Thank you for your response. I have contacted Hay4You, but if you wouldn''t mind checking around with people you know, as well, I would really appreciate it. As I mentioned, I coming to Cph for job searching, and would actually enjoy having a roommate. Which part of Cph do you live in? It''s a beautiful city, and I''m really looking forward to being there. Your website mentioned you''re from Memphis - I''m curious what you think are the biggest differences between the Danish culture and our culture? My email is: jensmith7801@yahoo.com Thank you! Jen "
