For those who are in or know Cuenca well, what's the best time to travel there for:
1) Lowest cost flights? 2) Best weather? 3) Unique events?
Thanks for your replies!

Glad to know that you decided to visit :) I am visiting Ecuador now. Presently in Cuenca, contemplating a trip to Ibarra, North Coast, then back home, to collect all the docs, pack, and move. Have visited Cuenca before, around October. Well, it was warmer then :) But I like it here anyway. About flights - check some specials with LAN and AA. I prefer LAN. Used my AA miles to fly here

Strange, answered, but my answer disappeared. Trying again. In Cuenca now, contemplating a visit to Ibarra and North Coast, then back home, to collect all documents, pack, and move. Have visited Cuenca before, in October. It was warmer then, but I like Cuenca anyway :) Flew here with AA miles, on LAN flights. Suggest that you check LAN and AA, and also consider buying AA miles, because the tickets bought with miles have flexibility with respect to changes

Boncur, I love it. Slyfox has taught you about false flags and you are trying to employ them here. Not very convincing (you're trying too hard) but understandable for a first effort.
According to slyfox, I live in Cuenca. Why don't you come visit me before you leave?

There are hardly seasons...in any sense. The weather doesn't change much, rainy and not so rainy but these patterns have changed in recent years. The ticket prices don't seem to be seasonal that I have noticed.
Best fare, if you are on the east coast of the USA, is the round trip between LGA and GYE last I checked it was $465. The price of tickets is all over the place. You have to hunt. But....after you figure that out its not too expensive to go back and forth.

1) Taca told me Sept/Oct for them -Who are you flying to Ecuador on? -Ask them what is the Cheapest Time to Fly. (2) Best Weather: Rainy Season is just ending. You can Google for Yearly Data (3) Seems like there is always something happening... you might subscribe to the GringoTree, they post about the Events.
