We want to recommend a great professional to help you settle in Ecuador, especially if your Spanish is as atrocious as ours.
Jorge Lopez has been recommended on this forum for transportation but as they say, he does "so much more!" He helps you get residency visas and cedulas, negotiate rental leases, helps you find and buy a car, open a bank account, get wifi and cable. Pretty much any help you need, he's the man. He picks you up and drops you off in his new van or car, so no need to worry about transportation.
He has so many contacts and friends, is cool and confident in any situation and thinks ahead.
Seriously, we never would have been able to get over all the humps and bumps of settling in Ecuador without Jorge. He charges a reasonable hourly rate so it's easy to calculate and no surprises.
His English is excellent as he went to high school and college in the states so he translates well. He also understands the gringo concept of time. In other words, he'll be on time or he'll call if he's going to be a little late.
We moved to Guayaquil but Jorge, who is based in Guayaquil, mostly helps people moving to Cuenca and also the beaches, such as Salinas. I guess that's because Cuenca and the beaches is where most expats go, lol.
He also does airport transfers and tours.

this is good info. I might decide to move from Cuenca to the coast so I can give Ocean a hard time in person.
does Sr Lopez have a full sized pickup or box/van or bigger?

Hyundai H1.. full A/C 9 passengers capacity or i can take all the row seats out and have plenty of space instead.

Yes, a Big Hyundai H1 9 passangers capacity , full A/C, and i can take all the row seats out in case more room needed for when coming with tons of luggage and suitcases and boxes , pets , etc.

I too have worked with Jorge Lopez and can’t say enough about what a wonderful vacation I experienced. I am so glad that I decided to book him for my trip. It was money well spent.
Earlier this year I visited Ecuador for the first time. Being unfamiliar with the country and me not speaking Spanish, Jorge was a god send. I would have been lost trying to tour on my own. Even though I was clearly a tourist, I felt like a local when traveling with Jorge. He took me all over the country, starting with a coastal tour…Crucita, San Clemente, Puerto Lopez & Salinas…a city tour around Guayaquil and to the mountain city of Cuenca. He is an excellent driver, the van is comfortable and the conversation was great. I learned so much about Ecuador in the short time I was there. I can honestly say that this was the best travel experience I’ve ever had.
Jorge speaks perfect English and translated for me when necessary. He even bargained with the merchants in the market to help me save a few dollars when souvenir shopping. Jorge knew all of the best places to eat which afforded me the opportunity to try a variety of Ecuadorian food. His B&B was quite modern and very comfortable. The B&B has a very homey feel as his parents were there and were a delight to chat with in the morning at breakfast. The food was great too. The Ecuadorian bacon and eggs along with the oatmeal covered with fruit and honey were outstanding. The honey alone is worth the trip!
Overall this was the perfect travel experience and I highly recommend Jorge Lopez transportation services and his B&B. I know I will book with him again
