Black USA Family Looking For Help!!!!

Post New Topic

Good evening. Me and my family are christian folks, and we sense something coming in the U.S. in a bad way.

I am a hard working, intelligent, computer savvy, artistic person who does not have the funds to leave the U.S. right now. I am coming to the international public community right now to ask that you would assist my family.

We are hard working and are not looking for a hand out. We are looking for a person, individual, family or group of people who would look out for us in this time of pending crisis.

I am good at selling houses, art, fixing cars, handyman work around the house and gardening. I have a myriad of skills that can be useful to the Ecuadorian market place.

I come to you humbly as a man and say that I need your help for my family. We are not rich. We live in Detroit Michigan, and we see the darkness coming on the horizon here.

If Yah (God) has touched your heart to help us to get down there to South America, then please respond to this post as I come to you in complete transparency and honesty. You must understand that being a man this is hard for me to do.

Much Respect.

Thanks

You are spot on in sensing problems coming in the USSA......work here in Ecuador does not generally pay well with a salery about $400/month.......
It may be possible to open a store of some type but you need to find a niche.....
It is more than funds to get here, more so a way to live when you get here......not to mention the need of a visa if you are here for more than 6 months.......

Sir:

I have to call you on this post --

You have made 40 posts now on this website -- in the Uruguay, Peru, Colombia and here on the Ecuador forums. You have asked to be mentored, assisted and now are begging for help becuase it appears you are terribly scared of some unforeseen "darkness" coming over the horizon.

You want to run away to where you believe life will be better, where opportunities will be available, where you will be safe.

Expatriating to a foreign country with your family (you say you have two sons 8 and 15 in other posts) -- to a completely alien environment where you know no one, do not speak the language, do not know the culture, have no job, no livelihood, no way of earning a living and no future, is NOT the answer.

Whatever it is that is making you feel you must run is something you must face head on. Please do not uproot your family -- Please DO seek some assistance.

You say you are a Christian man -- may I suggest you seek help within your community and continue to do so until you find the assistance you need. No matter how far and fast you run, you will never out run your own demons.

The Lord helps those who help themselves -- He was there with Daniel in the Lions den, with Joseph in the jail and gave him Dreams -- and with you Jesus on the Cross -- have Faith!

...Look for the answers -- they are not to be found in South America -- they are to be found in your own heart and in your own home...

Be well and G-d Bless.

Susan

tmpauling, my immediate advice is to get your family out of the city of Detroit. As an immediate step, I would suggest crossing the river to Windsor, Canada. After that, it will give you time to explore your options.

Agree with boatmax. Detroit is a wasteland. Try the Dakotas. The Bakken oil fields have pumped millions into the economy. Back in the summer unempl was running very low 3 percent range. I saw a news report where Wal Mart was advertising jobs at $20 per hour and couldn't find anyone to work.

Pauling,

I would get out of Detroit and find another place in the USA. Not all of the USA runs like Detroit.

There is ALOT of opportunity in the cities of Texas right now.

I couldn't help notice your post and I would like to give you some good advice that can possibly help you and your family forward. Someone suggested that you consider moving to the Dakotas. This would be a great step that would improve your current situation. There are jobs in the Dakotas for everyone that wants to work, and especially for those that are mechanically inclined. Consider moving to Bismarck or Fargo, there you will find housing that is reasonably priced and lots of jobs to choose from. Unless you have some friends living in western North Dakota, I would not go there to find work or housing there. The jobs are better paying then the rest of the state, however housing is difficult. Good luck!

I have to step in here....

First = NOBODY cares (in Ecuador) if you are Black, green or purple!

People like you for WHO you are not the color of your skin.

That being said - start a "moving fund".... put a little away every chance you can. Don't just ASK for a handout - work for toward this FUND. IF Ecuador is on your radar - then start working toward that goal.

We do not live in Detroit - we live in Florida and have been "hit" as hard as you guys! We are in forclosure, declared bankrupsy = all because Florida is one of the places nobody talks about where the economy is concerned! Whole strip malls are empty. Business owners just gave up as they couldn't sell because banks wouldn't loan them the money to try to keep it going.

Good luck - we plan to move to Cuenca in March. I just got back from a month long visit - it took me a year to save the money! But we did it! Now are in the process of saving, selling anything/everything so we have the money to actually move ..... you can also!
Hugs - Pam

I am a Detroiter. I understand. I love my city, and it is devastating to see what has happened. I bought my house for $154 thousand. Right now, the value of houses in the subdivision is around $13,000. Most people have walked away from mortgages they cant pay, because the automotive jobs they depended on, went to Mexico after Nafta. Ive been here in Ecuador for ten years. I have quite a bit of time until I qualify for pension/social security. I moved here to Ecuador withy three kids and six suitcases. I had to learn the language, find work, and still; I work three jobs to get by. Its not easy. Its a shame. Its hard to move somewhere else in the states, if your credit has been trashed, or you dont have thousands of dollars to rent a place with deposit/etc, and to be able to live until the check starts rolling in. I dont know what will happen to Detroit. My son has been back there for four years. Hes a hard worker, but has been forced to get by with several part-time, seasonal or sporadic work. He cant move, because he takes care of his elderly grandmother. sorry for the rant, but its sad, and my heart is broken for my city.

The DAKOTAS? Are you kidding?! He said he was BLACK. No place in the Dakotas will hire a black person - the Lakota Indians are darker than "black" and THEY can't get jobs to save their lives just because of their skin colour. The Dakotas are called "the Mississippi of the North" for a reason. I considered going out there with lawyers Without Borders to fight against the overwhelming racism they face from the white people there, and other people in Massachusetts told me that one. "The Mississippi of the North." Enough said.

Whether the OP is genuine or not, it is absolutely true that some major bad sh*t is about to hit the fan in the US; gonna make the Watt's Riots look like a Revival meeting:(((

@ Ocean - you are a woman of immeasurable talents! No Preacher could have said that better:)

CANADA DUDE. NOW. I have been saying the same thing to my too few Black friends for 30 years...

The Dakotas! LOL. I think if we relocated every Haitian to North Dakota it would be the best thing that's happened to the Haitian people in over 200 years; just tell the white folk that they're covered in crude;~P
