Galapagos, was "train rides"

I thought the Galapagos discussion deserved it's own thread. This may help anyone else who would like to visit the Galapagos without spending the stupid money that some of the tours are charging.
LFBS suggested I use AA miles to get to the islands and then after that the costs are much more reasonable. American Airlines are affiliated with Lan and Tame.
When I contacted AA, they told me that no award flights are available but to check back daily as this changes often.
I then went to United.com and was able to book a flight using award miles. Their partner is Aerovias and they fly into San Cristobal (SCY). I think Tame and Lan fly into both SCY and Baltra (GPS).
So that sums up the discussion that morphed during the train ride thread.
LFBS ask if I snorkel or dive and the answer is Snorkel.
Of course we are now looking for hostel suggestions and any other regarding our stay on San Cristobal or the islands in general. You guys have been awesome with advice! Many Thanks.
