We are making our second trip to EC in about 8 days--Mrs. Jaymo will be teaching a photography workshop for college students at ITAE in Guayaquil, and then it's up the coast to a spot between Manglaralto and Dos Mangas. Well, 4 or 5 km off the coast, but less than a ten minute drive.
Because Mrs. Jaymo's teaching begins on the 15th, we are taking the first several days to relax in Salinas on 11-12-13 of Deciembre.
No questions to pose, advice always welcome, and we can't wait to get back there.

Give a holler when you are in the area... we'll do pizza or sushi ...you know something typically Ecuadorean :)
Sounds like you are heading for Bromeliad or to Bill Balers place?
Have a good trip in!

we will do that, Susan, thanks. We'll be staying at a Hostal on the Malecon, owned by a guy named Francisco. Short walk/ride from the CLP terminal.

Not too far from the Terminal Terrestre de SUMPA the new big station in Ballenita, by taxi about $5 or take the #13 bus into Salinas.
The old terminal in the center of Salinas is closed now.
That Francisco dude has a few places in Salinas, but just the one on the Malecon, :)
See you soon!

Unfortunately, we didn't make it to Salinas and Francisco's. American Airlines had more than a little problem getting us out of Miami once we got there. Got into MIA on Wednesday, and stayed MIA until Friday a.m. They finally got us off the ground at 10 a.m. after making us get to the airport at 5:30 am. The voucher for a free RT soothes the sting a little.
Francisco was graciously understanding about the snafu. We'll definitely consider staying at his hostal next time.
Since then, we've been in GYE at a small hotel a few blocks from Malecon2000. Lisa starts teaching her workshop tomorrow a.m. And we've just been told that instead of taking the bus up to Manglaralto on Thursday, the university is providing a car and driver to take us there on Wednesday after the workshop.
