here in Cuenca we felt plenty of shaking, but there doesn't appear to have been major damage, etc. No emergency were out right after so assuming no major injuries or anything like that. The coastal regions, especially nearest the epicenter...Manta, Perdinales, etc got hit HARD and are in a mess, death toll is rising, last I heard it was about 80

I'm in Tierra del Fuego rihht now, so I missed the earthquake. My neighbor emailed me and said her chandeliers all fell.to the floor as well as her plates and glasses My poor dog had the runs.
