Safe Donation for Earthquake Relief

There are already numerous false 'GoFundMe' sites and scams preying on people who want to help the victims of Ecuador's earthquake.
One of the best, and safest, ways to donate is to give to Hearts of Gold's Earthquake Relief Fund. They are an Ecuador based charity, well known and they jumped in to start helping right away. They are sending donations to the victims on a daily. basis. In addition, if it's something you want...they are registered as a tax-deductible charity for USA residents who donate.
The website link for Hearts of Gold is:

Even better

All the information for making a donation directly to the national bank which is making the purchases long term.

Much has been purchased and donated "brother to brother" and the trucks are coMing up the Ruta and down from Quito.

But much more is needed for the long run. More insect repellent (we have zika, dengue mad chikumgunya). Talc, aka quick lime, is needed for the bodies, tents and shade pavilions. Batteries, flashlights, candles, matches...

And of course surgical and medical supplies...

After delivering relief supplies from the
Ecuadorian Baha'i community to Muisne, it was suggested that Atacames has a lot of empty hotels and condos that could provide relief to many of the victims, How to facilitate that, is a question. The government could easily do so. The owners could also, The Prem Rawat Foundation has donated $25K towards earthquake relief here, and clearly there are others. Charitable relief funds that are making sure the bureaucracy doesn't divert monies could manage this. Atacames and Tonsupa were relatively unscathed by the earthquake, They only get about 30 days per year of full hotel, etc. occupation during holidays. Now the beach is empty and may remain so even in holidays to come for awhile. I would hope that this might get passed on to those who could implement it.

People do not want to leave their homes and move to another location.

They prefer to stay where they are,

While this seems like a good idea, please be conscious of the culture and the desire of the people to remain in their communities and not be separated out into displaced person camps and into apartment houses.

Susan,
Are not many of the indigenous peoples strongly tied to the areas they live by tribal connections?

It seems like they wish even less to relocate. I don't know enough about their culture to imagine how this would effect them, in comparison to non native citizens (probably the wrong term) who have family in various villages, towns and cities.
