Hello, I have a sick aunt from Ambato who was made more sick by chemo. The doctors have given up and now we need real help, really quickly. She has liver cancer. I'd like to know where we can find dandelion root, burdock root, milk thistle seed, turmeric, apricot kernels, Essiac tea, etc... Thanks any and all so much for your help. Tom

For tumeric root, instead consider buying 95 percent curcumin tabs. Labs have concentrated curcumin into tabs. Curcumin is the medicinal component in tumeric root, which only has 2 percent curcumin. It has powerful effects. google it and you will see. After days of reading I recommend Innovix labs brand only available on amazon 25 dollars for 100 tabs.. Beware of cheaper brands that are mostly tumeric root. Good luck Mandomaniac

All of these are easy to find except the apricot kernels (Laetrelle) and possibly burdock root. You might be able to get a form of Laetrelle through a homeopath or a naturapath in Quito, I know that Intravenous Vit. C is available here as are other alternative therapies and they are not super expensive ... Milk Thistle grows abunduntly here and on our mountain, called "Cardo Santo" here... buy this and other herbs dried in the Naturista stores, or in the herb section of your local food market. In Quito, Santa Clara market has one of the most extensive. Dandelion grows everywhere, you can find it, and pull it out to get the root, I let it proliferate here on our mountain. Burdock, not sure about that one. I can't find it in any of my Eucadorial herbal books. Sarsaparilla root is just as good though. Here is a link, and I'm sure there are other plants here with the same blood cleansing properties, dandelion (called "Diente de Leon" or "Taraxaco" here) is one, ginger, Aloe Vera Cactus (Sabila) ... others...

In Quito there is the Camari (health food) store on Calle Marchena off of the bottom part (Calle Versailles) of the Santa Clara market, good things there.
Good luck with your aunt.

Tumeric root is available here in most all markets, called Curcuma. Also the powder is available. Look also for this across the steet from the Camari Store that I recommended above in Quito, there is a spice and dried herb and fruit place right there. Make a tea from the Curcuma Root and then eat the roots.
