Excellent treatment of the subject. I didn't realize the wonks were able to focus on that area in such detail. Thanks for the reference link.

Dang, and I thought it had something to do with turbulent southward winds from Panama...;~) I hope those sitting on a fence between leaving and coming take heed of that upward trend:) And I wonder just how similar are the sciences of seismology, meteorology, and economics?? I mean, all three have serious faults;~O

Having so many different things to worry about, crime, earthquakes, bugs and disease is great. Like a balanced diet for the paranoid. I am a science fiction fan so I like to tremble at the thought of a meteorite or comet. Then there is radiation - can't forget that - what with the recent unpleasant political development.
I'll bet the ants don't worry about earthquakes.

The subject of this threat I mean thread is earthquakes Sin, not crime or science fiction......And the ants and the entire animal kingdom sense an earthquake coming and react, so that you too, if you can read the behavior, might know.............watch those little buggers for they shall most likely inherit the earth.........

Scary, dumluk. I wish someone had answered the question of whether the data put the southern Ecuador zone in greater danger.

Add politics to that C7. Unfaithful, I believe politics have a greater upheaval in the lands that any winds from the north.

Is there a connection between the big earthquakes in Japan and Ecuador? https://phys.org/news/2016-04-japanese-ecuador-earthquakes.html

Yes, a group of grasshoppers saved my life. I was watching them for signs of trouble..
...then I got very hungry so I ate them. (thus the name)
Thank god for insects! ...and they turn red when cooked to a crunchy crisp.. mmm..

I'm told there's not much that I wouldn't eat.
Anyway, now I think I can sense impending doom. Like right now ...i sense my coffee is getting cold.
Yep.. un-freaking-canny, man

RoyalPayne, You can find some of the information that you seek from: http://www.igepn.edu.ec/ You could also follow Dutchsinse for a more provocative prognosis of the situations around the world. Remember, if you live long enough you will encounter an earthquake if you live in an earthquake zone. Did you feel that? Don't worry, just collect the stuff you need to get by until normalcy returns.

I would appreciate it if you guys would take your banter offline and away from this thread.....Your b.s. has nothing to do with the subject matter.....show a little respect and it would be nice if the moderatrix would actually do her job instead of siding with one or another..........

Hey Hopper?
Did you know that Grasshoppers are a form of Locusts? Locusts are the swarming phase of certain species of short-horned grasshoppers in the family Acrididae
And little known fact there are Kosher locusts that are varieties of locust deemed permissible for consumption under the laws of kashrut (Jewish dietary law). While the consumption of most insects is considered to be forbidden under the laws of kashrut, the rabbis of the Talmud identified four kosher species of locust.
Now what was that about no banter on this thread... Funny I don´t recall that being a rule here ... In fact the major perpetrator of thread drift for the most part on this forum would be ... well, you know who.

Who? DL?
Yeah, kind of like the pot calling the kettle a Dumass.. haha
Oh yes, I know that about locusts/grasshoppers.. (I'm a biologist as well as a hopper eater, remember?) I thought that there were 7 kosher varieties.. it's 4? ...good info.
When some look at me like I'm nuts I ask if they remember what John the Baptist ate during his 40 days in the desert..? Honey and locusts?
Seldom make any biblical references, but you've seen some of the ones I have to deal with on social media - it's hard to not just rip like I sometimes do here.
I try to be a kinder, gentler hopper elsewhere due to the thin skins on a lot of my friends. ..seems we here have gotten more used to the road rash... haha H

Locusts are one of my experiences of the power of nature.
I arrived in Libya in North Africa in 1957 just a ahead of a locust swarm. After they passed the date palms were totally denuded and dead locusts covered the ground in heaps. During the swarm I went outside with a tennis racket and swung at them. They were thick in the air. I couldn't miss hitting dozens. I was 11 years old so it seemed like a cool thing to do. Even in those numbers I didn't feel threatened by them.
Didn't feel the urge to eat them, kosher or not.
Plagues, Locusts, Earthquakes, the inauguration - is there a theme here?

Wait ...no one has mentioned the real reason for the increase in EarthQuakes (uh...increase from what, before we had seismographic instruments and kept records?) It´s a conspiracy I tell you!
...and considering who began this thread, I for one am shoced...shocked! that no mention of tectonic Weaponry has been mentioned, or Aliens, or ... even worse!

I doubt the DT, the Department of Truth, is going to allow the use of data based reality even for earthquakes.
Stand by your tablet, a tweet will be issued shortly indicating whether you felt anything or it was just #@Lieingseismologists again.

This was nothing more than a test run.....To demonstrate the collective I.Q. and character substance of the mainstream posters on this forum.......See how it works Reumy? You post a serious topic worthy of consideration, study and debate, and this is the kind of adolescent response you get.........I have inside information from my alien contacts that there is another one coming very soon. Epicenter expected to be Main St. Montanita.........Impact radius expected to be limited.........And if I did happen to be well liked by the likes of you and some of the other twits and tarts on this forum, then I really would have something to worry about......Now sit back and enjoy the spectacle today....If you listen carefully you will hear the distinct sound of libtards whining and sniveling all around.............
