It is with great pride and a little exhaustion I announce the commencement of the

Along with all that technical stuff I spend a lot of time working with the local vet, Dr. Juan Carlos Muñoz at AgroVet Dos Mangas on the via Dos Mangas in Manglaralto where the shelter and refuge is being built, walking the various barrios of Montanita monitoring the street populations and which animals are most in need of immediate services, and herding kittens.

That last part is due to the fact it is kitten season...soon to be followed by pup season.

We are working on our "break the cycle" project to get as many female dogs and cats injected with contraceptives during this cycle and then bring them in systematically for spaying, as well as setting up sufficient foster homes to hold recuperating females for 5 to 7 days before re release.

We also appreciate anyone coming to Ecuador to contact us about bringing in supplies we need most: old towels, flea collars, and certain supplies from places like PetSmart that are incredibly expensive here. If you live in farm country, there are horse and cattle supplies we also need that could fit neatly in a corner of your suitcase!
