Reliable Mail to USA?

Greetings folks,

Any comments on best way to send documents from here to (and then from) the USA? I've been told that registered Ecuador correo is pretty dependable these days, while others prefer a private service such as DHL. The price difference is substantial. I think it's about $15 vs. $100. But then who wants to regather all this paperwork (for residency)? I'm leaning toward DHL. Happy to hear some opinions. Thanks.

I have not experience, but in researching it what I have found is that if you want something to get here/there it has to be registered, otherwise all bets are off. If it is registered it seems it is reliable.

i recommend DHL, sent documents from Ambato DHl and were received in California two days later. I had the documents sent back via DHL and delivered directly to DHl, less likelihood the package got lost along the way I was able to track the DHL packet as well on-line. Cost to send documents each way was about $45-55. As a side note I once tried to have another document sent via fedex and delivered through Correo Ecuador, it never arrived... Worth the extra money in my opinion.

Muchas gracias for the replies.
I went with DHL. $62.27 for .3K of documents only, to upstate NY from Guayaquil, 3 day delivery. Makes sense to me. Buen Dias a todo.

I´ve sent info to the USA via Correo with a receipt and it has made it every time in 14 days. This was actually for a legal case I was filing. Mae it with no problem and I have the documentation I required.

That being said ...I am not going to gamble with someone elses documents.

Hi, If sending mail I would use DHL. We had registered mail sent from France and France says it's in Quito and Quito says it hasn't arrived. Had to fly back to France and get new copies and bring them n person. If we had time DHL would have been much cheaper even though are expensive.
