Good question. If I were you, I would research some hospitals first to see if you would want to work here or not. A couple of them(Dar Al Fouad for one) I understand will hire foreign nurses, but I don't know what they pay. I think I've heard they may have Filipino nurses working there, but that probably means the pay scale isn't that high. You should try to contact them and see #1) do you get an answer, and #2) what do they pay and what are their requirements. You might come and work for a private doctor doing some nursing duties, but administration may be as much of those duties as anything. I had a good friend that was an NHS head nurse living here with her employed (otherwise) husband. My dermatologist interviewed her to work in his clinic and he probably would have hired her, but she wasn't too interested in the admin part of the job he was hoping she would do. In general, you will probably hear that nursing in Egypt is nearly non-existent, or just BAD as the health care system here doesn't put much into nursing. Also, keep in mind that the vast majority of your patients will be Egyptian, so how is your Arabic?
Good Luck.
