There are many low paying English Teaching Jobs available for native speakers, long hours, staggered, low pay without work permit. The better schools (bi lingual Colegios) generally prefer to hire those certified to teach in their home country, they assist in obtaing work permit and visa. Unemployment is high in El Salvador, many English speaking Salvadorians deported from US, they are citizens, often 100% bi lingual thus able to work legally. as well as cost of living is relatively high as USD is falling. All types of night life from Bohemian, upscale Zona Rosa/La Gran Via and the dangerous side I would not recommend "Bar Show" type places, there is a Scots Bar and an Irish Pub in the Bohemian District, you'll require a car, a ride or take taxi going out late night..walking around alone not recommended, join us on facebook group El Salvador After Hours http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=15055090042 on El salvador Network. As far a getting a job...up to you..Volunteer first if possible, make contacts, friends, connections, pound the pavement..the only way. Several years ago a native and I went out of our way to help a visitor get a teaching job..not even a thank you...The "gimme" crowd! No more.....!!!!
