I am retired, but worked with many in the Apparel and Confection Industry (Industria Maquilla) here in El Salvador, I did Sourcing. Upon arrival your company will probably place you in one of the 4 or 5 star hotels in San Salvador, beware of teh local "Relocation Company", they show you homes or condos in upscale areas with rents going $3,000-$5,000! Through individuals or in the newspaper classified teh sme casas, condos or apts. may be found for $800-$1,500 month in the same upscale areas depending whether furnished or unfurnished. The less Spanish one speaks the more expensive things are. If your company provides you with an auto fine, otherwise purchase a used car here. There are several competing Internet and Cell Phone providers and WI FI is now available at home and in certain commercial establishments, El Salvador has good roads, best infrastructure in Latin America, to call home get a Skype account. I myself have several US ex military ex pat friends in Phillipines who use Skype to call USA. the people are very friendly, respect the people who work on the Plant floor, sewing and cutting, decent folks working hard for minimum wage. As in Manila, there are parts of San Salvador you do not walk around alone, day or night. Most of teh plants are located outside the city, send me an e mail address if you require more detailed information...Ex Pat..Kano..in El salvador.

Hiya,
check out this place where you can stay while in San Salvador.
http://www.hostal-lonigo.com
It is conveniently located, offers a la carte breakfast and has inexpensive monthly rates.
