First click on to http://www.maplandia.com/el-salvador/car-rental/san-salvador-airport-car-rental/ Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar and Thrifty are the International Rental Car Companies there, check with your Credit Card provider if they have a deal with any of these providers to provide 100% insurance coverage for you with no deductibles, a friend of mine got that deal here with Alamo when he came to visit, otherwise if you wish full insurance coverage with no deductible, usually $800-$1,000 in El Salvador, the Rental Car Companies are all located in kiosks just as you come through the departure gate, check with those 5 companies to see if you are able to get a discount booking online in advance as well. If you will be driving a lot in the congested city of San Salvador and do not know your way around and will not be driving every day, you may consider a "driver-owner" a bi lingual native with vehicle who will drive you around and guide you, interpret for you, if need be, for cash per diem with no liability for you in case of accident or damages, make sure the owner has his own insurance as many used cars in El Salvador are uninsured. Some of these guide/drivers are experts and are able to save you a lot of money, time and grief if you do not know the country, both for business and tourism, click on http://www.localyte.com/travel-Sailing/El+Salvador--San+Salvador--Colonia+Escalon and you are able to ask questions online and view services of all guides, chat with them before your arrival, in any case, have a nice trip to ES and send me a PM if you have other questions.

Be careful which company you use, and take lots of pictures of the car before you go. I've had many friends use the large corporations and have many problems. Alamo seems to have the worst reputation. National seems to have the best.

Would you happen to know the phone number for the transportation company called Emmanuel? I used them when i was there and i have lost their number amd cannot find them online. If you could find the number amd post it here i would be extremely grateful.

Its actually a taxi service? Theyre very professional, for example we would call them to pick us up from our gouse and go to the mall.. Etc and i just remember they were little compact looking cars, new, and they had Emanuel sticker on them. Sometimes they would play Christian music in the car amd the driver were always prefessional. Some even spoke english... I cant find them. Not even on that other link :(

Car rental agencies at airports are always the most expensive. Regardless, try the Local tab of Google+ for reviews of your nearby agencies.
