Hi Guys
I am moving to Tallinn to join my girlfriend at the end of February, does anyone have any insight on importing a motorcycle? I have read about the restrictiona on right handed vehicles, but being a bike is kinda different.
Also anyone have any good tips on finding work there, as I am a Chef by trade and also a qualified computer engineer, only english speaking at present but learning estonian fast.
Any help/tips or advice welcome
Regards

Hi EriK,
I have been married to an Estonian for six years and visited the country many times, it is great. Unfortunately, I have no knowledge about bikes, but I saw in your note that you have read about right hand drive vehicles. We are thinking about moving to Tallinn for a few years, and I might want to bring the Landrover...Could you help (sorry that this is a counter-question rather than an answer)?
Enjoy Tallinn, and good luck with the Estonian (I am still struggeling...),
Henrik

Dear E,
I have only just moved to Tallinn myself a week ago. No idea about the bike, but you might want to try a local biker club in Tallinn? They are usually quite friendly with such questions.
Any recommendations with getting up to speed in Estonian? I am a total beginner, but need to find work soon. I freelance in meeting planning and product marketing.
I think both your professions would be relatively easy to find work in Estonia. You prob have found something by now -- given your post was about 6 months ago!

Hi Louisa
Thanks for the feedback, I haev actually managed to sort all of my woes out now regarding importing, but it wasnt fun as it seemed nobody knew what to do....it would have been so much easier if I had left it until after May 1st.....such is hindsight.
How is your Estonian coming along?? I am slowly learning it from my fiancee, but it is far from easy!
As for work, I found a job 3 months ago, which requires no estonian what so ever, russian would be helpful ;) There are actually more and more jobs opening up for native english speakers, which is a huge plus. I hope you find something soon.
