Renting in estonia

Hi

I am thinking about moving to estonia and renting a property and am a bit confused by the laws for living there,

I have looked on the estonian government websites and is it as difficult to get residency as it seems?

I have a internet based business so I have enough money to live on, I am used to being able to just turn up in a EU country sign up for tax and be able to stay as long as I want because they dont stamp you passport.

Has anyone got any contacts for good flats or houses? I have seen advertised flats for £200 a month, is this the right sort of price?

What sort of bills would I have to pay on top of the rent and has anyone got an idea how much these would be for 2 people living together?

Any help and advice would be great

Thanks

Dan

Hi , Dan

Estonian rent is not expensive compare to other EU country , it depends on you how many you want to pay . near the center , the rent usually is more than 230eur , flat only one room ,kitchen , toliet which suitable for you . some rent fee including heating but depend on owner , usualy you pay rent fee and electricity ,water, internet .

I hope you can rent a cheaper , good condition flat .

Good luck !

Thanks Jesseryhe

For anyone else that needs to know I have found out from the ministry of immigratation www.mig.ee that as a EU citizen the residence permit is just a formality and you just need 7700eek income a month.

does anyone have or know anyone with rural houses about 30 miutes from Tallinn, Parnu or Tartu

Am looking for someplace to stay for a short time while on a fact-find mission to Estonia. I'd like to stop in or around Parnu. Anyone with local rental knowledge might like to offer advice which would be gratefully received and acknowledged.

Thanks.

Pete

Hi all,

I am also looking to relocate to Estonia, Tallinn in particular, by the looks of things i might have a job opportunity there although no guaranties as yet.
I was wondering where the best place for renting is and which and what agencies there are.... so far i have plled a blank so any advise would be welcome.

Hi Thom,

I know through a friend of mine of an English-speaking letting agency, Property in Estonia Haldus (email: property_management@property-in-estonia.co.uk) who manage quite a few properties for ex-pat owners. It might be worth dropping them an email? In terms of locations, if you can afford it it is best to be in the centre for easy access to bars, nightlife etc. Some of the suburbs can be a bit depressing in the winter. Hope you enjoy your time in Tallinn! Cheers Joe
