Come visit in February before you move. Nowadays, the sun comes up at about 9:30 and goes down at 3:30 in the afternoon. Mild winter so far, but the past two were brutal.
You don't say what you do for a living, but keep in mind that salaries in all fields are very low here. The cost of living has risen steadily in the last ten years, and it's not cheap to live here anymore.
The language is no picnic, and you'll find that your acceptance as a foreigner here to be mixed at best.
Great place, I love it, but it is different!

Here's a link. Click on the "Services" tab. http://www.politsei.ee/en/
I am a music teacher here, with no special knowledge of the immigration process. As I remember, it was not difficult. It may have helped that my wife is Estonian.
Good luck! --Giorgio

Hi I went to http://www.politsei.ee/en/ It says "An EU citizen shall obtain the right of residence upon registration of his/her place of residence located in Estonia in the population register of Estonia." I am a citizen of EU and want to live in a more stable and hopefully secure country than my home country. I have saved some money from my career the last 15 years as an IT consultant which required a lot of travel, and I want to retrain myself to do more work internet-based from home which won't pay as well but I am looking to not have to be required to travel always for work. It seems like if I just go there, rent an apartment, I should be able to go to the police and get an id card. Is it really that easy? or am I unaware of the reality. I want to get a place, order internet for where I am living, open up a local bank account, basic requirements. Thanks

The clips from Estonia are beautiful, because they are mostly filmed in summer. In winter it is a different reality. However, for a foreigner who is not European and white, it is almost impossible to settle there. Most of Bangladeshis come to Estonia as emigrants and ask for asylum. However, xenophobia is on the rise and any person with skin darker than an Italian will draw attention and might be taken for an illegal emigrant.

The only way you can move to Estonia is to get a job which pays you average salary plus 5%, as stated in the law. That means that a company needs to pay you around 1100 euros per month, which is quite a hard salary to get. If you find the job, then the company can get you a living permit, but that doesn't include wife and kids.

It doesn't work like that. Get a visa and you can come to Estonia and see the country. If you want to marry a foreign girl, then try with an Indian girl, she is also foreign.
