Programs for disabled persons in Fiji?

Hi. I presently live in America, which is quite fast becoming a fascist police state. Also, if Donald Trump wins the White House in November of this year, America's disability programs are likely going to go kaput.

Presently, America has a few things for people with disabilities (I have autism, by the way). One is Social Security, which is a sort of "grant" that retired people and people with disabilities get every month. Another is subsidized housing which low income people live in, and they pay roughly a third of their monthly income, usually from Social Security, Welfare, etc, for rent. Of course if Trump wins, I really don't see it as lasting any longer in America.

Does Fiji have anything similar to that kind of stuff I mentioned? Also, a growing number of American people apparently work from home on the Internet, does Fiji have that, too?

Fiji is very strict regarding immigration. If you want to reside there, you will have to provide police and medical reports and you have to prove that you can support yourself.

So in other words, are you trying to tell me that there are no services at all for people with disabilities and/or retirees in Fiji? To me, that would be like saying that, if Trump wins, that Fiji may as well lock down it's borders to Americans fleeing from Trump.

Fiji is a developing country and has very little in the way of social security for its own citizens, let alone those from other countries. If you wish to retire in Fiji you will need to own property and provide proof of income. I suggest you look at the Fiji Government website which will tell you all you need to know. Certainly there is no low cost housing and you will have to have private health insurance.

It's best that you do your research and contact Fiji Immigration for the most up to date information.

It is a third world country, after all, and the people of Fiji are not in a position to support people who wish to live there, just because they want a better life.

My husband and I are immigrating from Australia and we have to prove that we can support ourselves. So that means money in the bank, buy a property, start a business and employ Fijians, just as an example.

We are long term unemployed, almost 4 years now and we have no other option as we are 11 years off retirement and our money has run out.

I would suggest to you that you move to Australia, cos we have a pretty good medical system here and look after our disabled, but our politicians have completely screwed us over and we are headed the same way as the U.S.
