" The Nokia International Club has an informal get-together every Wednesday at Molly Malones in Kaisaniemi. We have friends who join us from such groups as the Helsinki Hash House Harriers and Harriettes, the Keskiviiko Club, and a group of Nokia and non-Nokia volleyball players. Since Nokia currently has rules about having non-Nokians on Nokia premises, we try to have as many activities away from Nokia as possible. We post all of our events to the NIC mailing list and the Keskiviiko mailing list so that anyone may join. If you would like to be informed of the events, send me an email and I''ll make sure you get the info. I''m attending a meeting today to discuss some issues regarding foreigners in Finland. I''m happy to say that the Global HR Manager called the meeting and seems to be genuinely interested in finding solutions for the identified issues. Btw, we recently had our 400th member join the International Club. Not bad at all for 16 months of operation. "

Hei, Hei, We finally made it to Finland. We now live in Valkeakoski. Have been here for one year. And have gotten our second residence permit, which was much easier and faster than the first one. We are taking Finnish lesson and finding that we learn slower than we used to. Nokia is a ways from Valkeakoski but it would be nice to have some contact with other expats. So far we haven't found any here. Do you still have get-togethers and if so we would be interested in learning about them. Phoebe ja Doyal O'Dell
