" Hi, My husband and I are planning to live in Finland for approximately a six month period, with the goal of determining if it will be a good place to retire permanently. Do you have any advise and how will we get an apartment for six weeks? The town we are interested in is Valkeakoski, which is about 30 minutes southwest of Tampere. Many thanks for any help you can give, Terve, Phoebe & Doyal O''Dell "

You could check http://www.dime.net/ for some housing info. We bought a house near Helsinki that we found on that web site last summer and a friend of mine found a house in Rauma. I''m sure there would be some kind of info about Valkeakoski. The vuokra-asunnot link would have the rental info. At the very least you should be able to find a real estate agent in the area. Good luck! Karen
