Hi, I just learn of this site today. My first visit to Finland was in March 2004 and since then I have been there at least 10 times. My experience from people whom I met there...Africans, has been with much mix results. But I can tell you this for sure. If you can't speak the language of the Finnish people you will have a difficult or at least impossible task of finding a decent job. The reason why I go there so often is that I'm dating a Finnish woman from there. We travel back and forth to each other. My longest stay was 6 weeks last October and November of 2005. I have talked with many foriegners concerning there stay there and they all seem to conclude the exact thing (problem). I have met Africans from all parts of Africa there, most are well educated but with remedial jobs if they have a job. The language is difficult to learn for an American. If you are an African and not fluent in Finnish you will encounter severe problems in obtaining a professional job there. Remember, this country have sponsored many Africans to come and live there with many benefits to get you started, even a free education; including teaching you there language which takes years to become fluent in because it's one of the hardest languages in the world to learn (it's so unique).
Sincerely, Tim
