" I decided I was ready for a funner topic!! So, our king size bed is 7 years old with a 10 year warranty. Do they exist in France or should we get a new one, with the sheets, duvet, etc. before we go? I read that malls have not caught on as much in Paris as the USA. I know of the big one by Disney, one near Versailles and an older one out near Orgeval. Do these look like American ones at all, with the food court and movie theaters or not really? Lastly, is it possible to go VO movies out in the suburbs or does it require a trip into Paris? "

" Yes, this topic is more fun. Beds here go by size, not a name like King or Queen. Generally they are 200 cm in length and the width can be 140, 160, or 180 cm. I think there might be one that''s 200 cm as well, but I''m not sure. I don''t know what the exact measurements are for a King. I have a 160 and it''s slightly bigger than a Queen, though people say it''s the equivalent. I have never tried American sheets on it. I have not tried these malls that you mentioned so I can''t say. The closest we have in Paris is Les Halles which is underground and has a bunch of shops. I don''t really like it. There is a movies theatre and places to eat, though I wouldn''t say and american style food court. I guess what I really hate about it is the element. There are a lot of teenagers hanging around which I guess happens at home, but they don''t usually seem like the kind of kids I grew up with, if you know what I mean. I''m sure it''s perfectly safe in the day and I do go if I have to, but...I''ll have to try the other ones just to see. As for VO movies, I think they are pretty much just in Paris. I might recommend getting a DVD! Diana "

" Here''s a little more info about suburban shopping malls from someone who lives in the suburbs. Are they like American malls with movie theaters and food courts, not really. They try but they''re not it. The one at Parly II which is just next to Versailles does have some movie theaters but it''s not the same as what you''re talking about. Virtually all of the movies will be in VF or the French version. Every once in a while a really popular one will show in English but generally at night because they assume kids who are more available during the day, don''t speak English. As for the contents of these malls, they are pretty good. You can go do your grocery shopping then go clothes shopping then go to FNAC for cd''s then buy trees for the garden. All enclosed with a free parking garage for the car. The few city malls are awful, as Diana says. They are small, dark, and relatively unsafe. So I suggest making the trip out to the suburbs for good one-stop shopping. Hope this helps. "
