Helen,
Bad news I'm afraid. I went to the Cyprus government website and checked the faq's for you and found this answer:
What are the laws regarding bringing pets into Cyprus? Do they have to be quarantined and if so, for how long?
A. Pets may be brought into Cyprus on the acquisition of an import permit from the Cyprus Veterinary Services. Cats and dogs must be accompanied by a health certificate signed by an official government officer of the country of origin. They must then be kept under quarantine for six months. Home quarantine in a previously designated area where they can be inspected at intervals by the Veterinary Services Department is also possible. After arrival they are vaccinated against rabies and treated for echinococcus and ectoparasites.
The following breeds cannot be brought into Cyprus: American Pit Bull or Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasileiro. More information regarding import regulations, inspection and quarantine fees and application forms can be obtained from:
The Department of Veterinary Services 1417 Lefkosia (Nicosia) Cyprus Tel : +357 22805201 Fax: +357 22332803 E-mail: director@vs.moa.gov.cy
-------- The good news is that you probably can keep them into quarantine at home. Don't know how feasable that will be and what the regulations are for that. Maybe you need a seperate room for them. But you can contact the director on the email address provided. They do speak English so that shouldn't be a problem.
On this website are the faq's, there are more answers about other subjects. http://kypros.org/PIO/faq.htm
Good luck and let us know how you get on.
