" Hi all, Am reading the postings with interest. I will be moving to Berlin in mid-June to begin work July 1. I have lived in Berlin before so know my way around--trouble is, I like so many areas so much I can''t decide exactly where to focus!! I would like to stay within the central area (i.e. BVG Tariffzone A). I am single, speak German and want to meet Germans so would prefer to not live ""far out"" in the quiet Zehlendorf/Grunewald areas. I would like to spend DM1000 complete on a 1.5-2 room flat and think it''s doable, but I would like to live in Charlottenburg (Savignyplatz area) ideally because of the cafe and shopping scene. Am open to other suggestions, however, given that I will be travelling a lot as a consultant, and would like some green nearby (Kreuzberg?) for the weekends for jogging. I would love to hear from Candice how your involvement with the agency was. Yes, it''s expensive but do you think it''s worth it given time constraints, lack of rental law knowledge, etc., and may I ask who you used? I would love to hear from Amy to hear how you found your place in Charlottenburg. What are you all paying for what type/size of places? I also need to find my own moving company so would appreciate tips on who works well from the US. I will be getting reimbursed a nominal amount by my company. I will be a local hire, not an expat, and will be under a German work contract. Looking forward to your responses and hopefully meeting some of you this summer! Amy Amann "
