I am a 25 years old British woman moving to Athens next year whilst my Athenian based fiance carries out his military service. I am currently working for the same company as my fiance (a Greek Shipping Company based in London - I will transfer to thei Piraeus office) and am fortunate enough to have the support of his wonderful family and a number of friends in Greece that I have known for a year or so. I have some basic (really basic) knowledge of the language and know my way round Athens (certainly central Athens). I was wondering if there were any other people out there or who have had experience of living out there who could provide me with some tips on how best to settle into things and where I can get help developing my language skills. I am excited by this opportunity but I don''t mind admitting I am a little nervous! :-) Thanks in advance!

" Dear Catherine, Congratulations on the move! Two of the biggest language schools teaching Greek in Athens are The Greek House (www.greekhouse.gr) which is in the northern neighborhood of Kifissia and the Hellenic American Union (www.hau.gr) which is in the center of Athens behind the university. There are some others as well, but I don''t know exactly where they are located. "
