Hi Lia (my daughter's name and spelling!) There are no full time English schools in Crete. In Chania there are English classes for bi-lingual, or native English speaking children just twice a week, 2 hours a time. In Heraklion I am sure there is something similar, but not a full time English school. For more info see www.geocities.com/livingincrete

My Wife is a Cretan Girl here in Chania who teaches English full time and also private lessons. to be honest her English is almost better than mine as a Native speaker. She has a 100% success rate in all exams. Regards Steve.

How to say this?
If you are 'seriously' looking at moving, then why would you want an 'English school'?
A 5 year old will have no problem going to a normal Greek school and picking up the language.
Why would you want to separate him from the world he will live and grow up in? I never understand this idea some people have of wanting to send their child to some kind of 'International school' or 'English school' or 'American school'.
Enter him in the normal Greek school system and take it from there. You will find that the education is equally as good and in fact in some ways better. Greeks take education seriously for their children and often spend a lot of money on additional private tutoring in various subjects including languages. It is not uncommon for a teen to be fluent in 3 or 4 languages on some of the islands. Father's Greek, Mother's Swedish, English (to Cambridge exam level) for tourism and possible foreign university entry.
The only thing I see an 'English school' doing is dividing the child from the world they live in.
