Hey I hope this post finds you all well & enjoying life. I am planning on emigrating to Greece either in 2014 or soon after. Recently however I have been prescribed a drug for an underactive thyroid, which I have (at least until I find an equally effective alternative therapy) to take for the rest of my life. Whilst in the UK, it's free. Who can advise me how I can access the Greek health system & obtain 'Levothyroxine'? I am happy to pay for it. Thanks in advance for your time & replies. Sarah-Jane

hi,to to tell you that the thyroid medication you need is very cheap and you can buy it over the counter for about 2 or 3 euro,I take it,and I make a thyroid blood test twice a year for about 40 euro each time. You cannot access the the Greek health system unless you are paying in through your job,you would need private health care insurance.
