Looking for either beachfront or close to the beach and a pool would be a great bonus. I'm 50 yrs old not looking for a busy city atmosphere just a Peaceful and quiet retreat. This would be every single yr beginning November to April starting in November this yr and every single yr going forward..Let's talk price and go from there

I thought I wrote a response to you on the Costa Rica forum daviddoucet but it isn't there when I look today. HUH?

Basically what I wrote was, that finding what you want has the best chance in tourist areas. People who have an apartment or house available to rent full time just aren't likely to be that interested in a temporary rental even with an ongoing deposit as you suggest you would offer.

Tourist areas on the other hand would obviously have rentals available on a short term basis either in season or out of season. IN season you will of course pay a lot more.

I have had experience with renting this way on the off season in several countries. What rents for say $500-1000 per week IN season may well rent for that same amount per month in the off season. So you may want to consider looking for places that off season will meet your climate needs reasonably well if not provide hot, beach weather.

Greece is one such place as I can attest personally. On the island of Rhodes for example, you might see 20c on Xmas day and no days lower than around 10-12c all winter. They get rain, not snow..

Their season runs May through October which fits your November through April requirement perfectly as it is their off season.

You would have to forget swimming though and the pool will be empty. LOL

Here is a place I can personally suggest from experience.

Call them directly using Skype and ask for a monthly rate and explain your willingness to pay in advance and leave a deposit for next year if things work out.

It is always best to see before you rent of course and the above is only one example of what is available. I should add that it is one with heating in winter which not all places have as they are set up for summer tourism only and so have no heating in winter, you have to use an electric plug in heater which can get expensive for electricity on top of rent.

Anyway, if this response goes through and you want to ask any particular questions about the idea of off season rental or Greece/Rhodes in particular, I'll be happy to try and answer.
