Does anyone know the "vigencia" or term of validity of documents supporting an application for a visa? In some countries, for example, a search for a prior criminal record is only valid for about 90 days. On day 91 it becomes invalid and a new search must be made.

Some online information indicates that it should be less than 6 months old on the date that you turn it in. I don't remember the exact time frame, but believe it is longer that 90 days. Betty Lopez will know.

Does anybody know if the residency process is different or easier because my wife is a Guatemalan citizen?
