Moving from Belize to Guatemala

I am originally from the US and have been living in Belize for 4.5 years. I am considering moving my family to Guatemala and am trying to see what part of the country might be the best fit for us. I'd appreciate any help that anyone is willing to give.

It depends on your wants and needs. If you have lived in San Pedro or along the coast you might want the Pacific coast or Caribbean coast here. If you lived in the Mountain Pine Ridge area or San Ignacio you might like Lake Atitlan or Quetzaltenango. If you were in Belize City you might like San Cristobal or the outskirts of Guatemala City.
Your work might also dictate where you can and cannot work here Guate. Of course, Antigua is the most popular expat destination but many others might be more appropriate for you and your family.

We have 65 acres in Bullet Tree. We love the bush and the wildlife. I know we won't find another farm/ranch in a safe area but a couple of acres would be nice so we could still have our organic gardens. Thank you for your reply.

Bullet Tree is fairly close to San Ignacio and the Guatemala border I believe on the Mopan River?. Guatemala is going through a strange rainy season in which it has not rain in 28 days, which is called the canicula, It usually happens the last week of July and the second week of August, but started on July 4 and is supposed to run through the end of the month, which will cause a loss of crops and price to go up on the same.
Not sure the crops you grow but there could be a number of choices you could choose from in Guate.

Sure, do you want to live in a city, or rural, close to the beach, in the mountains, at lake Atitlan? Do you have children that need a good school or and English school? You have many options.

I'd rather not be in the city. We could do well on the lake or in a rule area. I have a child that can either go to school or be homeschooled. My 87 year old dad is my biggest concern. We need a couple of acres so he can keep busy even if we buy it somewhere fairly close to where we actually live. We will bring a lot of dogs.
