Shuttle Van To Panajachel

Post New Topic

I'm planning a trip to Panajachel in March and I'm looking for a shuttle van driver that can pick me up at the Guatemala City airport . I'm not interested in riding on the chicken bus

If anyone knows of a good dependable driver that can take me from the airport to Panajachel, I would appreciate a reply, and if you have their phone number, that would be even better.

Thank you.......

Gustavo Rosales has been our driver for 4 years. 59749915 or 54140665. Gus.Rosales@gmail.com. Gus speaks english if that is important to you. His other drivers not so much. His vehicles are clean, the brakes are functional, the tires have tread and his drivers are courteous. He will be there for you.

I can recommend 3 excellent drivers.
Ruben 50652447
Erwin 59215180
Mario 58433046

Ruben and Erwin speak fluent English. Mario's is limited but ahouldn't be an issue.

We have used all three many times.
Good luck!

It looks like you have received some excellent suggestions already but just in case you weren't looking for a private shuttle/driver, this route is well serviced by the public shuttles. The only minor drawback is that they require going via Antigua where you change from one shuttle to another. It's about $10 from the airport to Antigua, and about $25 between Antigua and Pana (these prices are per person). A private shuttle that runs directly between the airport and Pana will run about $100 (this price is for the whole shuttle).

Everything Neal says is true, however you may be packed in like sardines and the vehicles sometimes lack preventive maintenance. having said that, it is a great way to meet fellow travelers.

The other disadvantage with the private shuttles is the Antigua change. It adds at least an hour to the total journey time as time gets eaten up with hotels drops offs and pick ups.

I meant to say the "public" shuttes. The private shuttle avoid Antigua and so the Airport Pana run directly.
