Visa Help "C" Country

Hello, we are planning to meet a friend in Guatemala City for a 5 or 7 day stay.

We live in a country with no visa required, but our friend does not.

They require a "Consulted Visa", I have tried to research this, it appears(?) they can get the whole visa by applying in Guatemala ? (By Courier)

I thought maybe they had to apply at the embassy in their home country and Guatemala City, as well.

I see they also require a introduction or letter, and or help from a "Guatemalan" ???

I want to cut through all the red tape here! One good thing is I see Guatemala allows you to present "Travelers Checks" (in your name) as proof of solvency/monies to support yourself during your visit.

This makes far more sense to me, then the many countries that play the 3 months bank statements game, for class "C" countries, and we all know they pay a huge price to "Borrow" the deposit money till 3 months of statements are produced!

Then it is drawn out and returned to the lender!

We all know the VAST MAJORITY of 3rd world country peoples have NO bank account, much less 6, 10 or 15 thousand USD just sitting there from their massive incomes, the "requirement" of many countries to get a visa. Stupid!

It is in essence fraud, but all the countries play along, and accept it, then issue the visa.

I possible need a contact person, or "Abagado" who IS HONEST, to get the visa ???

Can anyone here help?
