Airport to Antigua and money question

I'm flying from Cancun to Guatemala City next week and was just wondering if taxi, uber, shuttle or bus is good to get to Antigua. I have 1 big bag of luggage traveling solo. If anyone knows the general prices that would be helpful too so I don't get ripped off which is common in cancun :) I also was wondering if it's easy to withdraw money at the airport or is it better to bring Mexican pesos and exchange? Thanks and I can't wait to get there ??

I have a friend who use Uber from Guatemala city to Antigua regularly and told me they charge between Q 120 - Q 150 depending the hours and traffic. She is very happy with the service.. I would change your pesos before living Cancun or at Gt airport much easier.

Hey, i just signed up here but i guess i can help you to find the right way.

I just worked in a Hostel the last past 6 months and i can tell you there is a lot of diffrent ways to get there.

But the most important thing is which time you are going to arrive. If you want to drive back from Guatemala City to Antigua between 3pm-8pm there will be a lot of traffic. Multiple times it took me more than 3h for 42km of road.

If you want to go between this time you should definetly use an Huber because they cant charge you more. The price will be around 20$/Q150-200.

If you want to go the other times it´s possible to go by Chickenbus for just 2-3$, if you travel light and it´s bride outside you could safe some money her, on the other hand i never promise for saftey issues during the bus ride even if i traveled the whole country without even getting a unfriendly look.
Also there are Shuttles going for arround Q80-Q100 but they just drive around 5 times a day and are totally over filled most time.

I also could give you a contact for an Airport Shuttle, it is Q150 for a private Shuttle from the Aiport to Antigua.

I hope i could help you to take your decision and if you need any help around Antigua, please feel free to ask me.
