Hello ExpatExchange.com Members!
One area of interest for many expatriates is the need for assistance in settling in and the management of culture shock. In order to identify the information most needed by expats as they adapt to international living, we'd like to know the biggest hurdles you faced in the process of moving overseas.
Please help us in this project by answering these few questions:
When you moved to Honduras, what was the most difficult part of settling in there?
How much difficulty did you have with culture shock in Honduras?
What would be the best, single piece of advice you'd give to an expat (or soon to be expat) in Honduras?

Hi there
For my MBA degree I have to write an assignment on Honduras focusing on the "Millenium Development Goals" of UNDP. In particular I am doing some research in the following areas:
-Poverty & Hunger -Human rights -Universal Values -Education -Child Mortality -HIV
I was wondering whether you could comment on the current status in Honduras, ideally while addressig one or all of those topics, from your own lens and to give your perception on where you see the major challenges in the near future.
Again your input does not have to be of academic nature, I would just highly appreciate your personal feedback, views, opinion & concerns about where things are going.
Your feedback at your earliest convenience is highly appreciated
Best regards Constantine Allen - Switzerland -

this question is too subjective. There are so many variables about living here in Honduras. it depends on your perspective, your reason for wanted to live in the third world. the reasons you would want or need to live here. totally subjective. there is no anwer to your question

These are very complex issues, The people who would have to help you ,would come from the Private non profit organizations, like the UNiSEF or other world aid organizations. The government of Honduras is confronting a difficult situation due to the golpe de estado ,that deposed the President of Honduras. there were time when we did not know how was in charge. under way ,thats a totally different subject for another MBA degree. I would think you would have to come down to Honduras and stay down here a couple of months ,to get the anwers to these questions. sorry ,I could not help. maybe someone from the organizations thats works down here could do that. Bye, from La Cieba ,Honduras.
