Hello, I am heading to Honduras in about 3 weeks. I will be scouting for a possible move. I am fortunate that I do have family there American missionaries. Altho I am not a missionary it will be fun to participate with children and teach a class or two. I would like to make contact with others that are doing or have done this leap.....Leigh

I moved to La Ceiba Honduras and working here for over 6 years. Usually the coastal areas have more expats. If your going to be around this area, you can meet some of my clients and other expats.
Are you retired or ?
Cheers Chris Barrett

My husband, adult son, teenage daughter and I pretty much moved here to the La Ceiba area this summer and love it here. We bought property and a house (that was built for us) at La Ceiba Beach Club, and it is beautiful here. I volunteer some for a local retired American Doctor, Dr. Black. I have been to the Jungle School and am working on being a "mule" to ferry clothing and supplies and such back to the kids on most trips back from the states - which are often for us. Have you already picked where you will live? Are you buying a house?

Hello Jane
After many delays have finally booked my flight. I will be visiting and staying with my missionary cuz. For 5 weeks. They have generously offered to show me around. To see if this is for me. In the mean time I have been doing a lot of research asked a lot of questions. Then if so I will rent for a period time before commiting to buying. Of course also bringing a lot of supplies and special request from the States.

Fantastic. Have a safe trip. Is your missionary family here in La Ceiba? Are they part of the Jungle School here and orphanage or another organization?

We live on the west side of La Ceiba on the beach. We have an expat community here called La Ceiba Beach Club. Beautiful houses, terrific view - my front yard lines the beach. LOVE IT HERE!!!!
Where is the town you mentioned? Not familiar with it.
