Hey --
Since I'm moving to Honduras in just a few months, I decided to base one of my English essays on how to live in Honduras as an American. I've heard loads of scary stories and people keep giving me different info on how to protect myself. If anyone would be willing to chat with me for a little bit and give me their insider view on how to live their, I would appreciate it greatly.

If you're interested, please email me at kaunis.staples@gmail.com

Thank you!

Not sure where you are moving to but you need to know where the bad areas are. There is crime all over Honduras but different areas are safer than others. I would state where you ail be living and then someone from that area can asset you. I do a lot of business and live in La Ceiba without issues. The major issues for me is the police. Once you give them a fresco (soda) they will not ever stop asking. With me they have gone way overboard.

I'm moving to Tegucigalpa, which I've heard isn't the worst place to be in -- although still relatively unsafe.

Go to the coast to visit and vacation but to live the best and most peaceful place is Valle de Los Angeles which is about 40 minutes from Tegu up in the mountains with a nice climate and no crime.

@OP
Yeah, how is that essay coming along?

@HondurasChris
I too am coming to visit la ceiba within the next month to look at some property. I have a few questions for you since you are a resident there and getting my small business started.

Do you have any attorney recommendations for creating the Honduran corp? What about help with the investor residency application?
