I have noticed that most of these posts are from people who have settled around the coasts of Honduras. Of those of you who have settled in the coast, is it just the attraction of the ocean, or is it a personal safety choice?

I ended up on the coast because I had a nice house here already. I also have a house in Comayagua that I use when I need to go to the US base there. I have no concerns about my safety in Honduras. It is safe here if you follow a few common sense rules that you need to follow anywhere else, such as Detroit or Washington, DC. Don't be a fool and you'll have no problems.
