We are buying a home to use as a vacation rental. What is the going rate to pay a caretaker who is provided a nice two bedroom casita on the property. I have heard $400 to $600 per month.

Hi my name is Dan I am a well travels former merchant marine captain who retired to the hospitality business 3 years ago. I have been a doorman and valet parking supervisor at a urban hotel For the past year I have also served part time as a caretaker of a 20 unit apartment bldg where I live. I am searching for an opportunity starting about Sept 2016. I would be interested in your position. danielwall@msn.com should you wish to discuss this further.

You may want to consider more like $800.

Hi, I know this was posted a few months ago but I am in the process of relocating to Roatan. My arrival time is sometime this July/August. I am planning on renting for a while until I get the lay of the land. I would be very interested in this opportunity if it is still available. I have 13 years experience as a general manager for a Mark Rockefeller owned 5 star resort The South Fork Lodge. It can be found at Naturalretreats.com. I would be happy to take care of your property if you have not made other arrangements as of yet.

Sorry Scot80 we kept the original caretaker and I was mostly trying to figure out the going rate to pay him monthly. If you are needing a place to stay we are renting the house out for $2000 per month before we complete the renovations on the bathrooms. It is 4 bedrooms and is on the east end in calabash.

We kept the original caretaker, so we are not in need of finding one. Mostly wanted to know what a fair salary would be. The 4 bedroom house is for rent. Pre bathroom renovation rate is $1100 per week and $2500 per month.

Thank you for the reply, sounds like a great price but we are wanting to be in the west end west Bay Area. If something changes I will send you a pm. Thanks again
